WORKING GROUP ON THE ETHICS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN
WHAT IS IT?
It is a regional platform created to promote the ethical, inclusive, and sustainable development of artificial intelligence. It emerged from the Montevideo Declaration during the Second Ministerial Summit in 2024 and seeks to implement the 2024-2025 Roadmap, an action plan designed to address the ethical challenges of AI in the region.
WHY IT IS SO RELEVANT
In an era of rapid technological advancement, ensuring that artificial intelligence respects ethical principles such as equity, transparency, and non-discrimination is essential. This group fosters regional cooperation, ensuring that the benefits of AI reach all communities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
